From Prague to India: Sharing Knowledge and Connecting Students

During her visit to India, Assoc. Prof. Lenka Švecová, Head of the Department of Economics and Management at UCT Prague, visited two educational institutions. At KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), she taught two courses, while at Green Park Smart School in Tiruppur, she introduced students to the Czech Republic and UCT Prague.

Teaching Management at KPRIET

At KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) in Coimbatore, Assoc. Prof. Lenka Švecová taught two courses – Managerial Decision Making and Building Innovative Organization. Both topics are closely related to the challenges faced by today’s managers, from decision-making under conditions of uncertainty to creating an environment that supports innovation and new approaches.

Teaching in an international academic environment is not only about sharing knowledge. It also provides an opportunity to exchange experiences, discover a different educational environment and look at familiar topics from a new perspective. The meetings with students and academic colleagues at KPRIET therefore provided valuable opportunities for mutual inspiration and the exchange of experience in management and education.

UCT Prague through the Eyes of Indian High School Students

The next stop was Green Park Smart School in Tiruppur, where Assoc. Prof. Švecová introduced students to the Czech Republic, UCT Prague and opportunities for higher education in the Czech Republic.

The students had the opportunity to learn more about the Czech higher education system, UCT Prague and study opportunities in the Czech Republic. For young people who are only beginning to consider their future educational paths, such a meeting can be a first introduction to the possibility of studying abroad. For the university, these encounters provide an opportunity to present its study programmes directly to potential students and gain a better understanding of their perspectives and expectations.

Czech-Indian Academic Exchange

Both visits highlighted different aspects of international cooperation in education – from teaching at a university to making first contact with young students who are considering studying abroad.

For the Department of Economics and Management at UCT Prague, such meetings provide an opportunity to develop international contacts, exchange experience and introduce Czech higher education to students abroad.
