Scroll below for some basic answers to the most frequently asked questions when applying for the Bachelor or Master Degree programs and Preparatory Program at the UCT Prague School of Business.
Our Admission Representatives are ready to answer any of your questions and will be pleased to help you with the whole Admission Process - explain the admission requirements, inform you about the tuition fees and living in Prague, provide you with all the necessary documents needed for your visa application (if needed) and pick you up at the Prague Airport at the time of your arrival.

You can apply anytime during the year (October – June preferably) and start your Admission to our Bachelor and Master Degree programs September intake or Preparatory Program September intake. Visa students need five month lead-time as a minimum – apply in April at the latest.
You can also apply for the Preparatory Program February intake.
For your successful application, we are asking you to send us:
- Your Resumé (CV)
- Motivation Letter (300-400 words)
- Scan of passport
- School graduation certificate/Diploma
- School results for the last 4 years of the secondary school (1st - 3rd year, 1st semester of the 4th year), including
- subjects
- teaching hours
- result / grade
or
- Transcript of Records of your Bachelor Studies
and
- Language Certificate (if owned) or Confirmation of previous studies in English (if relevant)
Please prepare all the documents in PDF format.
We will also ask you to fill our “Application Form” and “Pre-enrolment Questionnaire”.
For successful admission, students are:
- required to be at least B2 level in English language (according to CEFR)
- required to have an Admission Interview with our Admission Representatives (online option is available for prospective students who are not in Prague).
- required to take an online admission test consisting of
- Fundamentals of Mathematics (for BSc applicants) or Fundamentals of Mathematics, Economics and Statistics (for MSc applicants)
- English
* Students who hold a Certificate in English (at least a B2 level in English according to CEFR or equivalent) or have studied fully in English do not have to take the test in English.
Applicants who acquired their previous education abroad need to apply for a recognition of foreign education in order to enroll at a University in the Czech Republic.
It is necessary to obtain an official document verifying that your education, which you have completed abroad, is equal to the education in the Czech Republic.
We offer recognition of your foreign education as a part of your admission process at our University. Your Admission Representative will provide you with requirements according to your degree of study and will assist you with the process.
Upon successful completion of admission requirements (see above). After March 1 for the September intake and October 1 for the February (i.e. Preparatory Program) intake.

Yes! UCT Prague offers many student clubs and organizations covering a wide range of interests. You can join groups such as the Business Club, PMI, IAESTE, ESN, Tutors, and many more.
One of our Admission Representatives will be in contact with you to explain and guide you through the admission process, inform you about the tuition fees and living in Prague, provide you with all the necessary documents needed for your visa application, and will be waiting for you at the airport in time of your arrival in Prague.
You can also use the Application portal at student.vscht.cz in the Admissions section. You log in with the email and password you used during your application registration, go to My Applications/Progress of Admission, and there you can see the status.
Money & Living costs
Registration fee of CZK 3,000 CZK (EUR 120) is payable upon application.
Fee for verification and recognition of your foreign education is CZK 800 (EUR 30).
Students registering for studies commencing in Fall 2025 will be eligible for CZK 110,000 (i.e., approx. EUR 4,400) tuition per year.
The tuition fee will be paid in two installments, half of the fee in the Winter Term, upon student enrollment, and half of the fee at the beginning of the Summer Term.
You should allocate EUR 12,000 as your living costs per year, including accommodation and tuition costs.
- Dormitory accommodation: cca EUR 200 per month = EUR 2,000 per academic year.
- Meals: EUR 250 per month = EUR 2,500 per academic year.
- Subsidized student public transport: EUR 15 per 3 months = EUR 60 per year.

UCT Prague offers scholarships for excellent study results or in cases of difficult personal circumstances. Students can apply for financial aid from the second semester of their studies at UCT. More information about financial support and student funding opportunities are available at UCT website.
Yes, accommodation may be reserved for you in the UCT Prague Halls of Residence based on your application for accommodation. See more details at UCT website for students.
It is possible to visit your assigned accommodation before moving in. Please contact the Accommodation Office directly to arrange a visit.
UCT Prague accepts tuition fee payments through online card payments, bank transfers, and QR codes, which are all managed via their online system (SIS). Student can find specific details by logging into the SIS system and navigating to the “Scholarship and Fees” section to view their fee information and make payments.
If you know someone who has also been assigned a dormitory at UCT Prague, you can report both your name and his/her name when checking in (or contact the dormitory by email ubytovani@vscht-suz.cz)
It is also possible to move to a different room if you won't get along with your roommate, however we believe that won't happen.
The dormitories are located near Chodov, in the south of Prague. By public transport (bus, metro, tram), the journey to the School of Business takes about 45-50 minutes.
VSCHT or using Czech alphabet VŠCHT is abbreviation of Czech name of our University. The official Czech name, as stated in Czech national law, is Vysoká škola chemicko-technologická v Praze. We use internet domain vscht.cz, as you can see in our web and e-mail address.
Official English name is University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, abbreviated UCT Prague.
Other official names of our University are:

Yes. The building is fully accessible with a special entrance for wheelchair users. Elevators are available inside as well.
Our students gain extensive exposure to the business sector through guest lectures from industry leaders, dedicated business case projects, and management competitions. As a result of these contacts, many of our students work part-time during their final year of studies.
Students also have access to elective courses that provide dedicated career development support. Furthermore, the Counselling and Career Centre UCT Prague is available to assist students with job placement and professional transition upon graduation.

We welcome you to visit during our Open Days, which take place twice each academic year in November and February.
Additionally, as part of the Admission Process, all prospective students have an Interview with our Admission Representatives. This serves as an important direct contact point with the School of Business. For students unable to come to Prague, an online interview option is available.
